Midland County has placed four new No Dumping signs to help keep our community clean and safe: two along S. County Road 1232 and two along S. County Road 1270.

These areas are part of a FEMA Floodway, where water naturally flows during heavy rains. Dumping trash or debris in these areas can block drainage, worsen flooding, and harming water quality.

Let’s work together to keep the Basin clean and beautiful!

Our Road and Bridge team has completed a major flood mitigation project along S. County Road 1232 (Antelope Trail). We removed roughly 5,000 cubic yards of dirt, which equates to nearly a million gallons of extra stormwater storage. The goal is to keep drivers safe by keeping water off the roadway in the event of heavy rains.

Texas Flooding Relief Efforts: How You Can Help

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent flooding in Texas. The community is facing immense challenges, and your support can make a real difference.

Please consider donating monetary contributions to reputable charities or relief organizations. These funds are crucial for providing immediate aid, supporting recovery efforts, and helping the local economy bounce back.

A quick note on donations:
While it’s natural to want to help by sending supplies, donating items can sometimes create logistical issues at disaster sites—clogging resources, storage, and distribution efforts. To ensure your generosity is most effective, we encourage donations to established charities of your choice, which are equipped to distribute funds where they’re needed most during this ongoing crisis.

Together, we can help Texas recover and rebuild.
