🚨You know the saying, when it rains it pours?

Well apparently we are flooding due to medical cases right now and we need a life preserver! 🛟

We got a message from one of our fosters last night that one of her kittens got into a fight with her kitchen chair and lost.

He was being your typical kitten playing around being a wild child climbing on everything that looked fun and he became stuck. He tried to free himself as his foster mom rushed to help and well…. poor sweet Cole now has a broken tibia!

We’ve included his vet visit for today which cost $633 🥴. We opted to split the leg and do 6 weeks of crate rest to see how it heals as he is still small and surgery would be risky at his age. We are hoping it heals and he will not need surgery but it is a possibility. He’s in good spirits giving his foster mom some loves but man on man none of us saw this coming.

If you haven’t noticed we currently have about a dozen medicals and close to 20 cats who need spay/neuter. We are drowning in vet bills and donations have really gotten low. We’ve hit a critical point where our programs that help the community are at risk and we will no longer be able to operate. We are trying our hardest to raise funds but we need the communities help!

Meet the medical mystery, Quinn! Quinn became a PBAA foster as a happy, healthy kitten. Then, over time he started eating less and less. His foster mom noticed he was losing weight and that’s where his medical journey began. He appears to be having trouble eating but figuring out why has left everyone scratching their heads. He has been in and out of the vet all month, racking up a rather large vet bill. We want to continue looking for answers but we need funds to do this! Can you help this sweet boy get better?

Hello! My foster mom said I needed to come on this Facebook thing and tell you my story of how I came to PBAA.

My name is Simone Angel Eyes. My life before PBAA was extremely hard. You see, I had been trying to live on my own and eating anything I could to survive but it was so hard. A couple of kind women found me when I had just given up because I was so weak from starving and dehydrated that I had collapsed in a driveway when they found me. One of these wonderful ladies rushed me to the vet as quite honestly I had given up. The staff rushed me to the back hooked me up on iv fluids, did all kinds of testing and the dr found I had some stickers stuck in my mouth and a grasshopper leg wedged in the back of my throat so I couldn’t eat. They also discovered I am blind. I can see light but that’s it. I’ve been on antibiotics and steroids in hopes to regain some of my vision back as the dr thinks there is a small chance it will.

I’m am safe with my foster mom who feeds me yummy foods and gives me all the love I can soak up. When I was found I was only 2 pounds and now I’m close to 5 pounds.

If you can donate a little bit so the ladies with PBAA can continue to help me and other kitties in need, I know they would greatly appreciate it.

The numbers are in for August! 39 community cats were spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
Whether it’s been loaning traps, education, appointment booking, transport, recovery, financial assistance, etc., we have been busy preventing countless litters. It’s that time when ALL of our PBAA kittens have hit the age they need spayed and neutered and oh boy do we have a lot!

This is a tremendous financial cost to the rescue and we need donations to finish off their vetting so they can all find their forever homes!

🧡These 4 orange boys start us off and will cost roughly $100 each to get their neuter and vaccinations. So we need $400 to make this happen! 🧡

Neutering these boys means fewer unwanted litters, healthier cats, and fewer kittens ending up homeless or in shelters. Every little donation gets us closer to our goal. 🙏

Queso is looking for a cheese lover who likes their cats large and in charge!

This massive hunk of a boy was pulled from Midland Animal Shelter as an injury case. He had a severely broken back leg that required amputation as it was causing him a lot of pain. He also was terribly overweight which added to the leg issues. Despite being in a lot of pain, Sir. Queso is 100% love and affection at all times!

Queso demands humans pay attention to him and will be in your face or lap purring up a storm wanting cuddles. He would love nothing more to finally have his own human to sleep in bed with and provide them his warmth all night.

He is cat friendly but has not been introduced to dogs. He does only have 3 legs but that doesn't stop him from getting around. While he has been on a diet in his foster home he still needs to loose a little more weight so his mobility improves.

Queso is fully vetted which includes vaccinated, neutered, microchipped. He is negative for FIV/FELV and fully litterbox trained. Due to his Chonk of boy size he will require a large, lower entry litterbox.

Emergency Help Needed for an Injured Kitten

A tiny kitten was struck by a car and is now fighting for its life. One of our fosters was sent a photo about an injured kitten from a friend and they rushed to pick it up and get it to our amazing vets before they closed for the day.

The kitten has suffered head trauma and is currently hospitalized. Every minute counts, and our team is doing everything we can to give this little one a chance to survive.

Emergency care, diagnostics, medications, and hospitalization come at a significant cost, and we can't do it alone.

Hello Facebook friends!

My name is Noel! I have been in foster care with PBAA for a few months now! I was found heavily pregnant out in the county trying to survive for myself and my belly full of babies in a feral colony.

As luck would have it, I wandered over to this super nice lady's house and birthed my kittens outside near her yard. She came outside took one look at me gasped and said no ma'am come inside and scooped me and my kittens up!

She agreed to foster so the rescue offered to get us all vetted and up for adoption and they even TNRed all my spicy friends outside!

Now that my babies are a bit bigger, we are all healthy and I have been fully vetted it is time to put my old life behind me and find a new beginning! I have been spayed, snap tested negative, fully vaccinated and microchipped!

I can be a little shy at first but once I settle in and feel safe, I am a super sweet girl. I have done my momma duty so now it's time to focus on me! The rescue estimates me to be between 1-2 years of age.

798 days.......27 months.....that is over 2 years...

That's the amount of time this beautiful orange girl has been in foster care.

Once again meet miss Nala!

She has been a long term foster in our program as you can see. Nala came to us as a teeny tiny kitten with a broken pelvis that was found in Odessa dragging her back end around just trying to survive. While over the last two years nala has been in a wonderful foster home this girl deserves a home of her very own!

She is super sweet, very outgoing, playful, curious and well she's orange! She caught the braincell and is not afraid to use it!

Now we know those who are seeing this probably don't remember Nala and her story and are wonder why she has been in foster for two years, we will explain.

Nala is healthy, but Nala has one little quirk people shy away from. Heck even attempts to find a special needs rescue or sanctuary for her have resulted in no's after hundreds of emails.

As a result of Nala's injury as a kitten and her pelvic break and the amount of time she spent dragging before being rescued has caused some odd healing internally. Nala has a little pocket if you will, in her colon. Don't ask us how or why, she has seen multiple vets, specialists and literally no one can give us answers as. We have trialed dozens of treatments, meds, foods you name it this girl has had it.

What this little pocket of fun does is smuggles a teeny tiny piece of p**p and will release it at random. P**p literally the size of a piece of cat food will fall out and she does not even know it happens. So yeah... nala will leave you a little "di**le Berry" as a surprise present. She uses the litterbox like a champ, has full sphincter control but when this pocket fills it empties on its own. Now this is not an all day always thing. The nuggets are maybe once or twice a week if that! If you have a fluffy butted pet and they get clingers that is the best way to describe her situation and how honestly not bad it is. But we believe in full bridled truths over here and put it all out there even when its weird.

Now here is the thing. After many many attempts at finding a food that controls the nuggets we have found one that stops the drops! Can we say AMEN! Fresh pet cat food is what she is currently eating and has had zero issues! As Nala has aged in her foster home it appears as though the colon is healing and the pocket is shrinking but... this might be an issue she has for life only time will tell.

Nala is available and searching for her perfect home. A home that understands she has a weird thing, but who will love her as she is and provide her all the fresh pet food her tummy can handle.
