Midland ISD police department joins the collective community of Texas fire departments in paying respects to the ultimate sacrifice made by Odessa Fire Rescue Lieutenant Isai Huerta, who lost his life in the line of duty while responding to a residential structure fire on Sunday evening. Our profound condolences are with Lieutenant Huerta's loved ones, the Odessa Fire Rescue team, and the Odessa community as they confront this unimaginable tragedy.

🚨CRIMINAL TRESPASS🚨

Midland ISD Police Department needs your help identifying suspects who entered both Midland High and Legacy High without permission.

The first incident occurred at Midland High School on Friday, June 5, 2026, at approx. 1:13 a.m., when a window was pushed open. The suspects can be seen entering multiple offices and carrying off small items and a whiteboard. The subjects re-entered the building, obtained several backpacks, and then left the premises.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:28 p.m., four males entered Legacy High School and multiple classrooms. These subjects are most likely the same who entered both schools.

Since joining the Midland ISD Police Department in 2022, Officer Ismir Cortinas has worked to strengthen safety, connection, and student engagement across our schools. From serving as Crime Stoppers Coordinator to leading the development of Midland ISD’s first Campus Crime Stoppers program, her impact is helping students feel empowered to speak up and be part of keeping their schools safe.
