The following lane/road closures are scheduled:
- West Louisiana Avenue from North Marienfeld Street to North Pecos will be closed from Aug. 27, 2026, to Sept. 2, 2026, to allow for utility work.
- A lane on North “A” Street between Veterans Airpark and Wadley Avenue will be closed from Aug. 31, 2026, to Oct. 6, 2026, to allow for utility work.
- Lanes on Fairgrounds Road from East County Road 72 (Cynthia Drive) to East Wadley will be closed on Aug. 27, 2026, to allow for utility work.

🚧 Road Work Underway Across Midland County
Midland County Road & Bridge crews are beginning a countywide chip seal project today, covering approximately 90 miles of county roads over the next two weeks.
Chip sealing helps preserve and extend the life of our roads by protecting the existing pavement and improving the driving surface.
Crews are also working around school schedules, with work near school areas planned for after-hours or weekends when possible.
Once the chip seal work is complete, striping will follow approximately 30 days later, with a second coat of paint about 30 days after that.
Please slow down, watch for crews and equipment, and use extra caution when traveling through active work areas. We appreciate everyone’s patience as Road & Bridge works to maintain roads throughout Midland County.

• Follow school zone speed limits.
• Watch for kids darting into the street or between vehicles.
• Stop and yield for kids in crosswalks.
• Put your phone away.
• Always stop for school bus stop signs or flashing red lights.

Your feedback will help identify barriers and prioritize improvements to sidewalks, crossings, curb ramps, and other pedestrian facilities so that everyone can move safely and comfortably throughout Midland and the surrounding area.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Policy Board of the Permian Basin MPO will hold a meeting on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Robert Earl & Sally Fischer Community Room, 2304 Loop 40, Midland, Texas, 79706.

The Board will hear updates on transportation planning topics. Special Agenda Item: Emerging Space Technologies, including presentations from TxDOT, the Midland Development Corporation, and the City of Midland. To participate virtually, the meeting link will be posted on the homepage of the MPO website at www.permianbasinmpo.com.
