On April 30, 2016 we will be participating in the DEA's National Drug Take Back Initiative. You may bring any unused or expired prescriptions to the Midland PD, along with several other locations throughout the county. We will be in the parking lot at the entrance of the Borough building from 10:00am-2:00pm. This is the ONLY day that is scheduled for this so far.

LATEST CREDIT CARD PHONE SCAM ALERT

We have become aware of the latest in credit card scams. To date, incidents of this type of scam have not been reported in our area, but we want to make you aware, so you don’t become a victim. A caller claiming to be a representative from the security division of a major credit card company will call, stating they have noticed suspicious activity on your credit card. Quite often, they will already have much of your personal information, to include your credit card number, home address, etc. This makes the call seem legitimate. To make the call seem even more legitimate,
the person offers a control number for the investigation and tells the card owner to call the 800 number on the back of their credit card if they have any questions. By the time that call is made, the card has already been used by the imposter.

THE ONE PICECE OF INFORMATION THAT THE CALLER IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN IS THE THREE DIGIT SECURITY CODE ON THE BACK OF YOUR CREDIT CARD.

If you receive a call similar to this do not give the three digit code, OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION, to the caller. Instead, hang up and call the 800 number on your credit card directly to verify any suspicious activity on your card. Notify your local police department if you belive you have fallen victim to this scam.

Last Saturday, Midland Police took 22 children Christmas shopping for the second year in a row. What a success! We couldn't have done it without the support of the community, generous donators, and great volunteers. Thank you!!

Several police officers accompanied local children to the Wal Mart in Monaca on Saturday for the Midland Police Department's Cop with a Santa Cause event.
