Winfree Memorial Preschool

Winfree Memorial Preschool Winfree Preschool is a Nationally Accredited School providing care and education since 1963.

Our approach to learning is based on well documented research in the field of Early Childhood Development that indicates that learning happens best for children when they are given the opportunity to actively explore their environment through learning centers, where there is a balance between teacher directed and child directed activities, and when instructional strategies are used that meet each individual child's stage of development

Play is enough!

Play is enough!

Play really is enough.

Yes, children will need to learn academics, listen and sit still. But that certainly doesn’t mean that these lessons should be straight-jacketed onto them in the toddler and preschool years. In fact, the funneling down of structured learning is all the more reason to let children play while they can. We must fiercely protect this precious, ever shrinking window of time for our children.

For more, I'll link "Don’t Let Your Preschoolers Forget How To Play" in the replies!

When we make space for art, nature, and open-ended play, we’re giving children the language they use first - the one that lives in their bodies, hands, and imaginations.

When children are loved for who they are, it can help them grow into adults who see differences not as divisions, but as something to celebrate.
