alth and safety of our community... because not everything fits in the can. Wasatch Front Waste proudly serves Copperton, Emigration, Kearns, Magna and White City Metro Townships; the cities of Cottonwood Heights, Herriman, Holladay, Millcreek, Taylorsville, and portions of Murray and Sandy; and the unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County. There is approximately 144,000 tons of waste generated annually by the 82,000+ homes that we are responsible to collect and haul. We provide a variety of ways to collect and haul this waste including weekly curbside waste, recycling, and subscription green waste collections. Wasatch Front Waste became a separate government organization from Salt Lake County effective January 1, 2013. The Salt Lake County Council and the District Board made this change to bring control of garbage and recycling pick-up closer to the people. Cities and townships serviced now have ultimate authority regarding their sanitation needs and are governed by the Administrative Control Board.

Enjoy Pioneer Day— celebrate safely and help us prevent fires.
After the fireworks fade and the grill cools down, remember that a few common items can create serious fire hazards if placed in your garbage or recycling cart.
🚫 Warm fireworks can reignite and start fires.
🚫 Propane cylinders can explode when compacted in collection trucks.
🚫 Hot coals and ash can stay hot for hours and ignite fires in carts or at our facilities.
Before disposing:
✅ Soak spent fireworks and allow them to cool completely before placing them in your garbage cart.
✅ Take propane cylinders to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility for proper disposal.
✅ Allow charcoal and ashes to cool completely before placing them in your garbage cart.
A few extra minutes can help prevent fires and keep our drivers, equipment, and community safe.
