The Piney Green Volunteer Fire Department was honored to participate in National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend by lighting the night Red. 🚨

This solemn event provided an opportunity to stand with departments from across the nation in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty

We are grateful to represent our community while paying tribute to the courage, service, and legacy of our fallen brothers and sisters. Their dedication continues to guide and inspire our commitment each day.

We ask that you join us in keeping these heroes and their families in your thoughts. 🚨🚒

🔥 BURN BAN UPDATE 🔥

The North Carolina Forest Service has lifted the open burning ban for 81 counties, including Onslow County, effective Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 8:00 A.M.

Burning is now allowed but please use caution:
• Never leave fires unattended
• Keep water/tools nearby
• Fully extinguish all fires

🚫 The ban remains in effect for 19 counties in central NC.

If you see an uncontrolled fire, call 911.
