Congratulations to DCBE‑Action VFD and the other 8 Hood County volunteer fire departments.

Hood County Commissioners Court has once again stepped up with 5 new tankers and 5 new pumper‑tankers, continuing the year‑after‑year equipment support they provide to their volunteer departments.

Midway Firefighters responded to a single‑vehicle accident on FM 247 today.

Crews were able to successfully extricate the driver using the jaws of life. The patient was transported by Life Flight to a Houston‑area hospital for medical care.

We want to thank Madisonville Fire Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Texas DPS, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and CHI St. Joseph Health for their assistance on scene.

FM 247 near Harper Lane is closed due to a one-vehicle crash.

Drivers should avoid the area and seek an alternate route while first responders remain on scene.
