🚩 RED FLAG WARNING UPGRADED FOR TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY 🚩

Well… let’s be real, we all knew this was coming.

The National Weather Service has upgraded the Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning for our area.

📅 In Effect: 9:00 AM Tuesday through 8:00 PM Wednesday

🔥 Expected Conditions:
• Sustained west winds of 25–35 mph
• Wind gusts up to 55 mph
• Relative humidity as low as 10%

⚠️ Why It Matters:
These conditions create the perfect environment for fires to start and spread rapidly. Any spark—from equipment, vehicles, campfires, welding, dragging chains, or discarded ci******es—can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.

✅ Help Prevent Wildfires:
• Avoid outdoor burning
• Secure trailer chains
• Use caution with equipment that creates sparks
• Properly dispose of smoking materials
• Report smoke or fire immediately by calling 911

Please stay alert, use extra caution, and help us keep our community safe during this period of critical fire weather.

🔥 FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT TUESDAY AT 11:00 AM THROUGH WEDNESDAY AT 8:00 PM 🔥

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for our area beginning Tuesday at 11:00 AM and continuing through Wednesday at 8:00 PM.

Conditions are expected to support rapid fire growth and erratic fire behavior due to:

🌬️ Strong west winds: 25–35 mph with gusts up to 40–50 mph
💧 Very low humidity: As low as 10%
🌡️ Unseasonably warm temperatures: Upper 70s to low 80s

With hot, dry, and windy conditions expected, even a small spark can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.

Help reduce the risk:
✅ Avoid outdoor burning
✅ Properly dispose of ci******es and smoking materials
✅ Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
✅ Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass
✅ Use caution when operating equipment that may create sparks

Conditions may improve briefly Tuesday evening as humidity increases and winds decrease, but critical fire weather conditions are expected to redevelop by late Wednesday morning.

Please stay vigilant, avoid activities that could start a fire, and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.

🚒🔥 One less spark can mean one less wildfire.

⚠️ Severe Weather Alert for This Afternoon & Evening ⚠️

We’ve been closely monitoring today’s severe weather forecast. While our area is currently under a Marginal Risk, the Slight Risk area does seem to continue to creep west and could include us as conditions evolve.

🌩️ Keep an eye on the sky during your afternoon and evening activities. Weather conditions can change quickly, and strong thunderstorms may bring lightning, gusty winds, heavy rain, and hail.

If you’re caught outside during a thunderstorm:
⚡ Seek shelter in a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle immediately.
⚡ Avoid open fields, hilltops, and isolated trees.
⚡ Stay away from metal fences, bleachers, and other conductive objects.
⚡ If no shelter is available, move to a low-lying area and minimize contact with the ground.
⚡ Wait at least 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder before resuming outdoor activities.

Stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings this afternoon and evening. We’ll continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed. 🌩️🚒

🚩 RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT 🚩

Let’s be real… we all knew it was coming. With temperatures climbing into the 90s, humidity dropping as low as 7%, and southwest winds gusting up to 40 mph, tomorrow’s conditions are a recipe for rapid fire growth.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM MDT for portions of Central Wyoming.

🔥 What this means:
• Any fire that starts can spread quickly and behave erratically.
• Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
• Avoid activities that create sparks, including welding, grinding, and parking vehicles in tall grass.
• Properly extinguish ci******es and never toss them from a vehicle.
• Secure trailer chains and equipment that could spark along roadways.

Our crews are prepared, but prevention starts with all of us. One careless spark can have major consequences under these conditions.

Stay alert, stay fire aware, and help us keep our communities safe today.

🚁 TRAINING SUCCESS 🚁

Today’s helicopter training was a tremendous success! We had the opportunity to work alongside two medical evacuation aircraft crews(Wyoming Life Flight, Med Evac) and Banner Health, giving our responders valuable hands-on experience and reinforcing critical skills that could make a difference when seconds matter.

One of the key focuses of today’s training was hot loading—the process of safely loading a patient into a helicopter while the aircraft remains running. These operations require clear communication, teamwork, and strict attention to safety procedures. Training like this helps ensure our crews are prepared to operate efficiently and safely during real-world emergencies.

We appreciate everyone who helped make today’s training possible and thank the community for their patience and understanding during the exercise. Continuous training is essential to maintaining a high level of readiness, and today served as a great reminder of the importance of practicing these skills before they’re needed.

🚁 TRAINING EXERCISE NOTICE 🚁

Today starting at 10:00 AM, Salt Creek Emergency Services will be conducting a training exercise involving two medical evacuation helicopters landing in Midwest and multiple ambulances.

During this training, residents may notice increased emergency vehicle activity and helicopter operations near the helipad. This is a planned exercise designed to help our crews maintain proficiency and strengthen coordination with our air medical partners.

⚠️ For your safety:
• Please stay clear of the helipad and surrounding areas.
• Do not approach the helicopters or training personnel.
• Be aware of increased vehicle and aircraft traffic in the area.
• Secure loose items if you are nearby, as helicopter rotor wash can create strong winds.

There is no emergency at this time. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue training to better serve our community.

Train Today. Ready Tomorrow.
