Tanker 224 and brush 225 (manpower) are currently operating at a 3 alarm fire in bloomsburg.

Just after 2pm the tones dropped for a brush fire in the area of interstate 80 mile marker 245.. captain 220 requested brush 210 ( Main Township Volunteer Fire Company to respond out towards hetlerville to investigate. Brush 225 located a control burn in the area of Yeager rd. Brush 225 brush 210 extinguished the fire. Captain 220 released everyone and cleared rhe box just before 3pm.

Our department is upgrading our fleet with a new Tanker-Pumper, and will be retiring our 1999 unit. We appreciate the support provided by Carl of Columbia Fire Apparatus and everyone at Spencer Manufacturing, Inc., whose professional guidance and patience were instrumental during the specification phase. The committee met for a pre-construction conference yesterday and anticipates a smooth process with all parties involved.

Just before 10am stations 220,210 ( mainville) 200( Lime ridge fire company 180 ( Espy Fire Department 50 Catawissa Fire Company for rit and rescue 122 Reliance Fire Company No. 1 were dispatched to the 100 block of Houck hollow rd in mifflin township for a structure fire. Engine 222 arrived on scene and found the homeowner extinguished the fire and checked for extension. Captain 220 had command and quickly started placing units back in service. Engine 222 stood by on scene and help the home owner with ventilation and making sure everything was okay before the box was placed back in service.

The Department is pleased to report a successful 2025.

Grant funding from the Community Giving Foundation and Berwick Health & Wellness was instrumental in upgrading our fleet with a 2026 Can Am Defender, which replaced the John Deere Gator and offers enhanced versatility.

We also completed the repayment of the loan for Engine 222, facilitated by grants from the PA Office of the State Fire Commissioner. This achievement enabled us to allocate resources to new equipment, including a Makita platform of battery tools and a gear extractor for in-house turnout gear washing.

We are grateful for the support of our donors and attendees of our fundraisers, which helped cover the costs not covered by grants.

We expect to share significant news for 2026 in the coming week or two.....stay tuned!
