We are excited about the new decal design that will be patrolling around Milaca!

With our most recent vehicle replacement we've decided to update our squad badging. This new design is more modern, and the large lettering will help make our vehicles more identifiable for those who need our assistance.

UPDATE 3:40am: Law enforcement is clear from the area of 4th Ave NW.

Milaca Police Department with the assistance of Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office are on scene in the 400 Block of 4th Ave NW on an active investigation. There is currently no danger to the public. For the integrity of the investigation, we ask that the public avoid the area.

A OnePlus phone was found at Rec Park. If this is yours, you can pick it up at the Milaca Police Department located in City Hall, 255 1st Street East.

08/01/2025: A Ford key fob was found at Trimble Park and turned in to the Milaca Police Department. Owner can call dispatch at 983-8257 to pick it up.

June 24th 2025, Rhythm On The Rum Parade Affected Areas and Road Closures.

🚧Central Ave from 8th St NW to 160th St (CR9) will be closed for parade line up starting at 4:30PM.

🚧2nd Ave NW/SW (parade route) will close at 4:30PM

🎺Marching Bands will be staging in the Hidden Pines neighborhood. The 12th St NE entrance will close at 4:30PM. 3rd Ave NE entrance will remain open for local traffic. Please drive slow as bands will be on the roadway.

🚗No on-street parking zones:

No parking along parade route (2nd Ave NW/SW from 9th St NW to 3rd St SW). Any remaining vehicles will be cleared at the time of road closures.

Hidden Pines neighborhood - no on street parking on the day of the parade.

No parking signs will be placed in the affected areas on June 23, 2025.

Scam alert: Don’t get tricked!

People in Minnesota are receiving fake emails and texts from “Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles (DPSMN)” about outstanding penalties. That agency does not exist — and those penalties likely don’t either.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) will never send a text asking for money or saying money is due.

Stay safe by following these tips:
• Always review the sender; the exact name matters.
• Don’t respond to this scam or open links.
• Delete the message.
