It is with green sadness that I announce that Troop 50s Troop Commissioner has passed away due to health issues and for anyone who knew Bobby Carroll here are his arrangements:

Here are arrangements for our dad, Bob Carroll

Tuesday, Nov. 2, 5-7 pm - Visitation at Arrington Funeral Directors, Jackson

Wednesday, Nov. 3, 10am - Graveside service at Ridgecrest Cemetery

We feel that it would be entirely appropriate for Scouts and Scouters to attend visitation and graveside service in Class A uniform, if you feel so lead.

If you would like to write a favorite memory to share at the graveside and give to Mom after the service, she would like to have them to keep. Please try to keep graveside sharing brief.

In lieu of flowers, we -the family- request that memorial donations be made to West TN Area Council, Boy Scouts of America

I was just contacted by our Scout executive and if there is any former Scouts and/or leaders with a Class A uniform that would like to participate as a part of Troop 50 please let me know Leah Dycus Carla Danner Mills

I was contacted by Bob Howland - 731-388-3657. He is coordinating a flag ceremony at the moving Vietnam Wall that is coming to Trenton. There are 12 families in on the Wall from Gibson Country. We would like Scouts to fold the flags and present them to the families or Mayors of the towns they represent if no family is present. He would like to have enough Scouts to fold all 12 flags at once. 3 Scouts to a flag would be 36 Scouts.

Ceremony is on September 26th, at 5pm @ the field next to the Trenton Post Office. I would think that Scouts should gather at 4:30 and will be done by 5:30. Communities represented on the wall include – Milan, Medina, Dyer, Bradford, Humboldt, Rutherford, and Kenton. If your unit wants to visit the Wall, the opening ceremony is 10am on the 24th and will start to be taken down on the after the ceremony on the 26th.

I have already reached out to the Gibson County Troops, but I think we will need some additional Scouts. If we can not get 36 Scouts BSA members we will have to look at Webelos and AOLs.

If your troop will committee to a number of Scouts please respond to Patricia and Esther with the number of Scouts your troop can send. Thank you for your service and attention to this matter.

It is with deep sadness that we report the Passing of Mr. Don Hazlewood. Mr. Hazlewood exemplified the scout oath and law everyday and was a treasure to all that knew him. He gave vast amounts of his time to help Troop 50 for very long time, he was not only a Scoutmaster but a friend as well. Rest In Peace Mr. Don.
