04/07/2020 @ 13:40 hrs Milan Fire, Grants Fire, EMC2, EMC3, Cibola Sheriff’s, Bluewater Fire, and Cibola County Regional Comms responded to assist McKinley County and San Mateo Fire in San Mateo for a brush fire. Upon arrival San Mateo Fire had a good handle on the fire. A little future firefighter (Levi Ortega, accompanied by his firefighter mother Araceli Ortega with San Mateo Fire Dept) was anxious to get in the game. Asst. Chief Daniel Urioste handed Levi his attack line and assisted by Grants Fire Michelle Serrano started (safely) knocking down hot spots. Once the fire was out and mop up complete. Levi still didn’t just stop, he proceeded to help Asst Chief Daniel Urioste and Grants Fire Anthony Valencia re-rack hose onto Engine 21 ( pictures below ). A big shout out to, who I think, had the biggest heart and was one of many hard workers on this incident. GREAT JOB LEVI ORTEGA! 🔥🧑🏼‍🚒🚒 He was a little upset he forgot his bunker gear at home, but us fire brothers and sisters had his back, and made sure his safety was number 1.👍💪

At 13:28 on 02/27/2020 Grants Fire and Rescue, Milan Vol Fire, San Rafael Vol Fire, and EMC 2 were dispatched by Cibola County Dispatch Center to a grass fire along the BNSF railroad east of Grants. About a 1/4 acre of grassland was burnt. Conditions are starting to get dry, and the windy season is upon us creating the perfect condition for accidental fires. Great job all crews on containing this small fire with no injuries.

Happy Birthday Son hope we get to talk one day !!!! My Son RaShawn P. Jeffers A.K.A. Shawn Betancourt Myself, my family and my son's mothers family have been looking for my son "RaShawn P. Jeffers" and Sherines daughter "Tiarra Betancourt" for a very long time. My son was Born May 5th 1993 at Mercy Hospital Rockville Centre N.Y. Up until the day he was born I was with Sherine Jeffers his mother for going on about 2 1/2 years. When my son was about close to a year old his mother Sherrine Jeffers left me to get back together with her ex boy friend "Shawn Betancourt" with no where to turn they went to his mother's house "Linda Betancourt" and told her that my son was his son so that she would let them live there. From there they had a Lil girl "Tiarra Betancourt" things got a Little hard for them. Due to reason Shawn and his mother Linda Betancourt had to take custody of Tiarra, then sometime after that Sherrine left Shawn. I dont know the reasons why she left but Shawn moved on and married another women, who help him raise my son and his daughter until Shawn Betancourt had commited suicide and passed away in 1999. Sometime later I found out that Sherine was back in Mt. Vernon and could not find anymore info on her from there and that Linda Betancourt was able to adopt my son changed his name to "Shawn Betancort and changed his SS# from what i was told. I did some more digging and found out Linda Betancourt moved from white Plains N.Y. to Hudson NY and then on to Elmsford , N.Y. From there the trail went cold, I am still trying to locate him and nothing. Until my niece found a young man who might be my son. She contacted his sister and she confirmed that there mother is Sherine Jeffers and that her brother was born May 5th 1993 and it was RaShawn in the pics I have of him in this album. I tried to reach out to him and explain the truth to him and he refuses to believe my story and wants nothing to do with me. Now I'm just hoping he will see to reason and would give me a chance to meet him due to the fact that the only parents he has ever known were the parents he was told were his parents. If he has grown into the man I believe him to be I know he would want to at least meet to ask any questions he might have. I'm not looking for anything from him, I just want to give him the opportunity to meet his mother's family and to know he has a father who wants to be there for him weather he want me or not. If he needs further prof I am willing to take a paternity test to prove to him that he has a father out there that want to try to give him the truth something no one has given him since his mother took him away from me. Born May 5th 1993 Mercy Hospital Rockville Centre N.Y. Mother: Sherine Jeffers/Lynch Address time of birth 1077 Webber Ave, So Hempstead N.Y. 11550 Last known Address: 140 Maple ln #33 Hudson, NY 12534
