Milan Township will have a dumpster container at our office building (1518 State Route 113 E.) for residents to drop off any brush and yard waste. The first container will arrive on August 10th and stay on location until August 14th (or until the container is full).

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Milan Township Zoning Board of Appeals will convene on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Milan Township Hall, located at 24 Park Street (corner of Church and Park Streets) in an open public meeting to continue from the April 9, 2026 public hearing, consideration of the request of Shelley Smetzer, 14804 Shaw Mill Road in Milan Twp., Erie County, Ohio and listed on the Erie County Auditor’s Map as Parcel 50-00444.004 for a variance from the Milan Township Zoning Resolution, Article 26.3 B.1) “The installation of a retractable swimming pool covering or other safety device does not replace the requirement for the four (4) feet high fence or wall and a gate with lock.”

Immediately following, The Milan Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing to consider the request of DPF Properties, LLC, located at 11299 Milan Road, Milan Twp., Erie County, Ohio and listed on the Erie County Auditor’s Map as Parcel 50-00601.000 for a variance from the Milan Township Zoning Resolution, Article 28.11 Sign Setback Requirements, and Article 17.3 Development Standards (Minimum front yard setback). The proposed monument/pole sign is within the 25’ required setback from the right of way on the west side of Milan Road.

UPDATE: The siren at MTFD Station 2 is functioning.

We learned on 4/1 that the siren at MTFD Station 1 in the Village is not working.

Milan Township personnel and Trustees are working with Erie County EMA to identify and remedy the problem as soon as possible.
