The City of Miles works to keep the mosquito population down by spraying and treating standing water sources. Residents can also help by eliminating standing water sources around their home, keeping their weeds mowed, using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, spraying/fogging your own property. We are thankful for the rain but need to be mindful that mosquitoes thrive in grass & weeds. Please be proactive and keep your property maintained. Letters have started going out to properties that need attention.

The City of Miles received a Community Development Block Grant in order to do a water main line upgrade project. The locations of the water main line replacement are from Perry Street to past Hwy 67 Gin - in the service road right of way AND along 2nd street from Boykin to Thomson street. This project started 2-5-26 and expected to be complete in no more than 120 days. This right here is one reason we are doing this! This was our main transmission line coming from the standpipe. Old galvanized line full of corrosion!! Through this process our water service has had to be interrupted several times, but everything will be better when the project is complete.
*Thank you all for your understanding*

There was a line break that forced this shut off time to be moved up to now 8:40 am. Sorry for the inconvenience.

04/15/2026

The water will be shut off south of the railroad tracks on Thursday 4-16-26 starting at 9:30 am. The duration is unknown at this time. This is to tie in new lines that the city contractor has placed, under the current water line replacement project that is going on in the city.
