Our AOLs enjoyed a weekend cabin campout at Camp Squanto - Mayflower Council for their last outing as Cub Scouts. Next month, they will crossover from Cub Scouts to a Scouting America troop.

Our Webelos practiced some basic first aid skills tonight to treat cuts, ankle injury, sunburn, blisters, arm injury, and dehydration. They also participated in some demonstrations by two of our Den Chiefs. Looking forward to joining a troop and learning all the first aid skills the big kids know!

Three of our Webelos stopped by Camp Squanto today to check it out! They got to meet up with some of our older scouts (including three of our Den Chiefs!), play some sports, visit Troops 314&219’s campsite, and do some crafting at Handicraft.

Violet has been one of Pack 71’s most outgoing, adventurous, and nature-loving scouts since the rank of Lion. She earned her Arrow of Light rank this year and crossed out of Cub Scouts into a Scouting America troop. She has also been a very active Jr. Ranger for many years.

Please support her and vote to help her win this Jr. Ranger outdoor ambassador award.

Tonight our Bear Den (3rd Grade) worked on the Forensics Adventure! Very cool! All the kids had great questions and did a great job! 🥾🕵🏻🔎🚨🧬

Snapshot Of Adventure:
Everywhere you go, you leave behind clues: fingerprints on your juice glass, DNA on your toothbrush, bits of fabric on your favorite chair, and footprints in your yard. Criminals leave behind clues, too. Forensic scientists study those clues to help law enforcement officers solve crimes.

Forensics is all about using science to answer questions about crimes (and other things that have happened). In this Adventure, you will practice some of the skills of a forensic scientist.

You will analyze a fingerprint, a footprint, the contents of ink, and some mysterious white powder. Grab your magnifying glass and start detecting!

Our Bear Den (3rd Grade) finished up their Elective “Baloo The Builder” today! They all built their own bird houses!

Snapshot Of Adventure: Learning to build things that are useful or fun is an important skill. You might grow up to build houses as a career or models as a hobby. Or you might just learn some skills that will help you in everyday life.

Building materials may include wood, cement, plastic, steel, or a combination of all these things. For this Adventure, we will focus on wood. You will learn about hand tools and how to use them safely. You will learn how to choose the right type of wood for a project and follow project instructions. And before you’re finished, you will use your new skills to make two projects from wood.
