EANGUS Call-To-Action; United States Army Rangers Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act EANGUS has long supported other associations in their efforts to pass legislation. We are asking our members to pass along this information to their Congressional Representatives. The National Guard has a long and distinguished lineage regarding Ranger units. Even though the National Guard currently does not have any Ranger Battalions, there are still thousands of Soldiers who are Ranger qualified to continue to serve throughout the National Guard today.

During World War II, the V Corps, 1st Armored Division, and 34th Infantry Division provided most of the volunteers for the Ranger battalions during that time. About 2,000 soldiers volunteered, but only 575 were selected to begin training. These amazing Soldiers accomplished many missions during their time in service and our country owes them a debt of gratitude for their service and sacrifice during World War II. Currently, there are fewer than 40 remaining WWII Rangers still alive. Please help these fellow servicemembers get the honors they deserve by forwarding call-to-action to your representatives.
