Discover the visionary world of architect Bruce Goff (1904–1982), celebrated for his organic forms and unconventional use of materials across architecture, painting and music.

In conjunction with the recent exhibition “Bruce Goff: Material Worlds” at the Art Institute of Chicago, Craig Lee explores how curatorial and archival collections come together to shape a major retrospective of Goff’s creative life.

Drawing on insights from his previous work as the Judy Cheteyan Collections Intern at Fallingwater, Lee offers a closer look at the artistic influences and personal objects that defined one of America’s most original architects.

Presented by Craig Lee. Register for this free webinar on July 28, 2026, at 12 P.M., ET.

This Pride Month, we reflect on the creative legacy of Fallingwater and the people who helped shape its story, especially Edgar Kaufmann jr.

As the only child of Edgar and Liliane Kaufmann and the person who in 1963 entrusted Fallingwater to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Edgar Kaufmann jr. played the primary role in preserving one of America’s most iconic works of architecture. A scholar, curator and modernist thinker, he was deeply engaged in the worlds of art, design and architecture throughout his life.

Edgar Kaufmann jr. is recognized as a q***r figure whose contributions helped shape appreciation for 20th-century arts and design. He spent much of his life with designer Paul Mayén, his longtime partner, whose work at Fallingwater included the design of the Visitor Center.

Fallingwater today honors that spirit by welcoming diverse perspectives through our education programs, residencies and creative initiatives.

Happy Pride from all of us at Fallingwater. 🌈

As we celebrate Fallingwater's 90th anniversary, we're honored to partner in a special evening that also marks the 40th anniversary of a venue uniquely connected to our story.

Designed by architect Tasso Katselas, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Manchester Craftsman Guild facility in Pittsburgh stands as a testament to Wright's enduring influence on generations of architects.

Join MCG Jazz for a memorable celebration featuring Andy Farber's "Usonian Suite" and the world premiere of Mike Tomaro's "Fallingwater," performed by the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra. Following the concert, continue the festivities with a post-concert party, meet the MCG Jazz Legends and enjoy a lively jam session.

At the end of May, Fallingwater welcomed nearly 30 students and their families for the annual Gnome House Symposium. Each unique gnome house was handcrafted by budding architects for a fictional gnome client, reflecting months of detailed work and creative storytelling.

The Gnome House program welcomes children ages 8–13 from around the world to discover architecture, storytelling and craftsmanship through creative, hands-on experiences.

It’s one of many ways Fallingwater encourages learners of all ages to connect with design, architecture and the creative process.
