Mill Valley Pack 33

Effective January 2025, Mill Valley Pack 33 will join with Pack 1 to form a new unit, Pack 133, to serve scouts in Mill Valley and southern Marin County. Pack 33 leaders and families past and present have enjoyed sharing the magic of scouting with you since 1953! Now look for us under our new name as Pack 133, where we will continue our tradition of service, beach bonfires, rocket launches, ice cream socials, and adventures from the beaches of Marin to the mountains of Tahoe. With this final Pack 33 post let us close one chapter and open another by remembering the those things define who we are as scouts: A scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.

Marin County Sheriff Jamie Scardina will be our featured speaker at our next Pack meeting December 13th at Scout Hall, 6-7pm. Scouts are welcome to bring questions for Sheriff Scardina.

Come to our next Ice Cream Social Wednesday September 6th at Strawberry Elementary to learn about Cub Scouting, enjoy some frosty treats, and fire off some air rockets for fun. 5-7pm.

Hi Pack 33, our annual Pinewood Derby is around the bend. If you didn't get your car kit at the last pack meeting, check in with your den leader, and get designing. There is a car build day sponsored by Marin Council and Order of the Arrow Talako Lodge, up at Camp Tamarancho, but you MUST register in advance to attend. Full rules (please read, it helps ensure you car will run properly on the track) are on our pack website at https://www.mvpack33.org/pinewood-derby . Car inspection and check in/impound will be March 1st. See email for location details. Race day is March 5th, 2023. Winners can move on to county races at the Marin County Fair this summer.

Pack 33 scouts got the whirlwind tour of the USS Hornet from stem to stern and many places in between November 19-20th, 2022. Thanks to our crew guides Cindy and Abigail, and all the parents who came to help their scouts enjoy this historic ship. Special thanks to Carl for a side visit to the port 5"/38cal and twin 3"/50cal mounts.
