Please join us next week as 5 Lake students join the stage with other students from the greater Toledo area to put on the production of Come From Away. This amazing true story of community that is found in a small town in Canada when thousands of stranded airplane passengers were diverted to their town when the US airspace closed as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Tickets can be purchased at TEN.Ludus.com.

Students wishing to attend the September 10th performance can ride the bus from the school. They should see Mr Mahas for group transportation and ticket information.

Who says reading can’t be a little spooky? Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Bazzoli’s 8th grade ELA students kicked off their study of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart by GLOWING with Poe! Their classrooms transformed into a neon-lit reading experience, complete with blacklights and highlighters as students dove into their first major annotation activity of the year. Students hunted for important details, reacted to Poe’s chilling language, and began uncovering how an author’s word choices create mood and suspense.

It was a fun, memorable way to bring literature to life—and our students were absolutely glowing with excitement as they read, discussed, and annotated their way through Poe’s twisted tale!

The beginning of a new school year brings new routes, new students, new routines and plenty of adjustments along the way. Our bus drivers have been working extra hard to make sure our Flyers get to and from school safely each day.

We are so grateful for their patience, flexibility and dedication as everyone settles into the new school year. Thank you for the early mornings, busy afternoons and all the care you show our students along the way!
