Run for the Fallen CT

Run for the Fallen CT Running in honor of all those who have served us, past and present. The 2017 event will be Saturday, September 16 at Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown, CT.

We will run 65 KM's; one for each of Connecticut's 65 fallen heroes.

Hello, CT Run for the Fallen family, we hope this finds you well. After much deliberation, we have decided to dissolve RFTFCT. While it deeply saddens us to post this news, we sincerely hope that our mission of remembrance will continue.

We will keep the page up indefinitely so that everyone has access to old posts and memories. Our website that has photos and biographies of CT’s fallen Heroes will be available through the spring.

We have tried to reach out to as many Gold Star family members as possible so, for those that we have not been in contact with, please send us a FB message if you would like your loved one’s mile marker. We will be sure to get it to you.

To all of the GS families, runners, volunteers, donors, and everyone who made this event so special- we thank you for letting us honor your loved ones and for all of the support and time you put into making this event possible. We will certainly miss seeing everyone and sharing time with you all and wish you all the best. ❤️🇺🇸⭐️

RFTFCT Friends,

It is with great regret that we are cancelling our September 2021 event due to some extenuating circumstances. While we are greatly saddened by the cancellation, we hope that you continue on with the spirit of the event honoring and remembering our Fallen. We will miss seeing all of the Gold Star families, participants and volunteers this year and wish you all the best. Thank you, again, for your ongoing support for CT’s Fallen, Gold Star families, and our event.
❤️🇺🇸⭐️

Signs/markers of fallen heroes will be placed along the route and runners will briefly stop at each marker to honor each service member. This event is free to attend and t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the run.

***Walkers- Individuals who are interested in walking will be able to do so on-site at the park. The CT Trees of Honor Memorial has a beautiful walking path in the park that is lined with plaques of fallen service members from CT. Today, and every day, we remember those brave service men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. We are resharing a video made Peter Galgano that portrays pictures of some of CT’s Fallen. It starts at the 5:25 time mark.

You can also visit our website runforthefallenct.org and select the “Heroes” link to read about the lives of some of our CT Fallen heroes (click on each photo). We think of their families and comrades today and every day.

A huge THANK YOU to Clifford Paquette, Marc Youngquist and GS mom Edith Gilman and Middletown Pipes and Drums for creating such a moving ceremony video for our event yesterday. Hats off to Peter Galgano for putting SO much time and energy into creating beautiful videos honoring our Fallen heroes (see link below). 🇺🇸 Special thanks to Kelli Parady for ALL of her hard work in creating content for the event, Tami Kapacziewski and Steve Lewis for their hard work every year and support. Also, thank you to Renee DiNino for supporting us and being part of our event every single year. It takes a team and, to our past and present volunteers, we appreciate everything you all have done! We look forward to working with you all next year.

We have one more post to share from a CT Gold Star mother who lost her son, Air Force Senior Airman Lawrence Paul Manlapit III, to a non-line of duty accident. She wanted to share his story and submitted this beautiful write-up.
