🚨 Smoke Alarm Installation Initiative 🚨

On Sunday morning, Baldwin County Fire Rescue, in partnership with the American Red Cross and Northridge Christian Church, proudly participated in their annual Serve Day by giving back to our community in a meaningful way.

Together, crews and volunteers installed over 60 smoke alarms throughout the Harrisburg community, helping to improve early fire detection and enhance the safety of our citizens. Installations were completed in areas surrounding 5th Street, Harrisburg Road, Laverne Circle, and Helen Circle.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Northridge Christian Church for their generous donation toward Fire and Life Safety resources and for providing dedicated volunteers to assist with installations. We would also like to thank the American Red Cross for supplying smoke alarms, fire safety education materials, and additional volunteers who made this effort possible.

Partnerships like these play a vital role in protecting lives and strengthening our community.

Working together, we make Baldwin County safer. 🔥

🔥 Live Fire Training Evolutions 🔥

Baldwin County Fire Rescue was proud to Host a great day of live fire evolutions with instructors from Baldwin County and the City of Gray Fire Department. Today’s training provided an opportunity to evaluate a recruit class currently being taught by the City of Gray.

Throughout the evolutions, recruits focused on:

* Proper water application
* Hose advancement in limited visibility
* Understanding fire behavior
* Working effectively as a team

These critical skills are essential to ensuring safe and effective fireground operations. With only five days remaining, these recruits are preparing to take their State Written Exam and Skills Evaluation. We wish them the best of luck as they move toward certification.

Baldwin County Fire Rescue would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Chief Eisele and the City of Gray Fire Department for the opportunity to allow one of Baldwin County’s newest members to train alongside their recruit class.

Great job to all involved, and thank you for your continued dedication to the fire service and the communities we serve. 🚒

🔥 Public Safety Reminder 🔥

Baldwin County Fire Rescue would like to remind our citizens that while we are not currently under a burn ban, conditions across Georgia—especially with the ongoing fires in South Georgia—are creating an increased risk for fire spread.

Dry conditions, combined with wind, can cause even small, controlled burns to quickly become dangerous and get out of control.

🚫 We strongly encourage everyone to avoid outdoor burning if at all possible at this time.

If burning cannot be avoided:

* Always stay with your fire
* Keep a water source or hose readily available
* Avoid burning on windy days
* Ensure your burn area is clear of nearby fuels and fires are out by dark.

Our thoughts are with the firefighters, Georgia Forestry personnel, and communities in South Georgia working tirelessly to contain these fires.

Baldwin County Fire Rescue has received several inquiries regarding the haze of smoke visible across our area. We have spoken to Georgia Forestry and they advised ,the smoke is drifting in from ongoing fires in South Georgia.

Please keep the communities affected, along with the dedicated men and women of the Georgia Forestry Commission and all firefighters and first responders in South Georgia, in your thoughts and prayers as they continue their efforts.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. If you see fire or smoke that appears to be local, please do not hesitate to call 911.

Life Saving Awards Issued@ Commissioners Meeting.

On December 28, 2025, personnel with Baldwin County Fire Rescue and Atrium EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive, non-breathing female patient. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a bystander had already initiated CPR, resulting in the patient regaining spontaneous respirations, at which time CPR was discontinued.

Fire personnel quickly assessed the patient and identified severely inadequate respirations at approximately three breaths per minute. Recognizing the critical nature of the patient’s condition, crews immediately began assisted ventilations using a bag-valve mask, improving the patient’s respiratory rate to an effective level.

During patient care, the patient became pulseless and apneic. Fire personnel promptly initiated high-quality CPR and continued life-saving interventions while applying the cardiac monitor/defibrillator. Upon the arrival of Atrium EMS, care was seamlessly transitioned, advanced cardiac monitoring and Advanced Life Support measures were initiated, and the patient was defibrillated again. A pulse was successfully restored.

Today, the patient is home, living a normal life with no deficits.

The rapid assessment, decisive actions, and seamless coordination of care demonstrated by Baldwin County Fire Rescue and Atrium EMS personnel directly contributed to the preservation of human life. Their performance reflects the highest standards of professionalism, training, and dedication to public safety.

For these actions, which contributed to saving a human life, the following members are hereby awarded the Life Saving Award:

• FF/EMT-I David Moose
• FF/Paramedic Chad Harrell
• Lieutenant Blake Robison
• Paramedic Justin Yerdon
• EMT TJ Burd

We are extremely proud of the professionalism, skill, and commitment demonstrated by these members. Their actions exemplify the mission and values of the fire service and highlight the importance of rapid intervention, teamwork, and ongoing training in protecting the citizens we serve.

Baldwin County Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone attending prom to make safety a priority so the night can be remembered for the right reasons.

Prom is a special milestone, and we want all students to enjoy their evening responsibly and return home safely.

Safety Tips for Prom Night:
• Never drink and drive 🚫🍺
• Always wear your seatbelt 🚗
• Avoid distractions while driving, including texting 📵

This week, April 12–18, we proudly recognize and celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Our Baldwin County 911 dispatchers are the calm voice in the chaos—the first, first responders. They answer every call for help, gather critical information, and ensure the right resources get to the right place, fast. Whether it’s a structure fire, medical emergency, or motor vehicle accident, they are the vital link between the public and emergency services.

Their professionalism, dedication, and ability to remain composed under pressure are nothing short of remarkable. Every call they take has the potential to save lives—and often does.

Please join us in thanking our telecommunicators for their tireless service to our community. We couldn’t do what we do without them.

Incident Response – Little River RV Park

Earlier today, Baldwin County Fire Rescue units responded to a report of a boat taking on water with occupants still onboard at Little River RV Park. Units responding included Fireboat 1, Engine 7, Squad 17, Battalion 1, Chief 3, along with our partners from BCSO, Georgia DNR, Atrium EMS, and MFD Fire Boats (enroute).

Upon arrival, crews located a vessel approximately ¾ full of water with two adults still standing inside the boat. Quick action by nearby civilians, along with Fire Rescue personnel, allowed the occupants to be safely assisted out of the sinking vessel, to the docks.

Both individuals were evaluated by Atrium EMS on scene, and no injuries were reported.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the civilians who stepped in to help, as well as all responding emergency service personnel for their teamwork and coordinated efforts.

MFD Fire Boats were responding to assist but were cancelled once the situation was brought under control.

Great job by everyone involved ensuring a safe outcome.
