To say it’s been inspiring to see everyone come together during this difficult time is an understatement.

While it’s no secret our community has been dealing with a lot, we still have an important election in less than one month, and I want to make sure I have the opportunity to meet with you, shake your hand, and share with you my vision for our community.

Have a meal on us, take a well-earned break, and let's chat on October 15 at Kai Thai.

Part of GYR's mission is to provide an environment for YRs to grow professionally, personally, and politically. To that end, we continued our Basecamp series in Columbus in the spring and highlight that as our #13 moment in the 2016 Year in Review.

Our efforts this time were tied to learning about emotional intelligence and what can be done to tie that into our political activities. We were once again blessed to have the course taught by Linda Beggs, a Republican activist from Marietta and professional trainer for large organizations.

The take away? Our politics can be enhanced and improved by having the emotional qualities it takes to be a strong leader in modern times. We are eager to fire this series of trainings back up in 2017 and beyond.

Who's going to attend the fish fry in a few weeks? Let's show our neighbors in the 8th some support!

We are 31 days out from the 8th District's annual Fish Fry! Be sure to mark your calendars to come and fellowship with Georgia's elected officials as well as eat some of the best seafood the south has to offer.

The War Town YR's will manage sponsors and booths for this great event. Therefore, if you are interested in volunteering, or simply just looking to get involved let us know so we can help!
