📜 Resolutions Adopted at the 2026 SDGOP State Convention
Convention delegates approved ten resolutions reflecting the values and priorities of South Dakota Republicans:
🔹 Supporting Petitions at All Levels of Government
🔹 Honoring Sandye Kading for Her Service to SD Republicans
🔹 Recognizing CO2 as a Beneficial Atmospheric Gas
🔹 Strengthening Justice for Victims of Child Sexual Abuse & Pe******ia
🔹 Calling for the Elimination of Electronics in Our Election System
🔹 Defunding Politically-Biased Programming by SD Public Broadcasting
🔹 Reclaiming the Republic of the United States of America
🔹 Limiting a Change in Party Affiliation
🔹 Banning Cell-Cultured Protein in South Dakota
🔹 Protecting SD from the Consequences of Minnesota's Energy Policy

We are especially proud to share that the resolution Strengthening Justice for Victims of Child Sexual Abuse & Pe******ia was submitted by Hand County Republican Party Chairman Amber Werdel. It passed out of committee unanimously and was approved unanimously by the full convention body.

These resolutions represent the voice of South Dakota Republicans — and Hand County was proud to be part of shaping them.

From the floor of the 2026 SDGOP State Convention, Hand County Republicans helped shape the direction of our party. 🇺🇸

Three platform updates were adopted by convention delegates:
🔹 Preamble — New language holding Republican elected officials accountable to personal moral integrity and the party platform when making decisions for their constituents.
🔹 2.0 Economic Development — Rewritten to reflect our belief that free market principles, minimal government, and neutral policies produce the strongest economic growth for South Dakota.
🔹 5.14 Government Affairs — "We encourage efforts to prevent fraud." — A plank proposed by Hand County's own party Chairman, shaped in committee, and approved by the full convention.

Hand County's voice was heard. We're proud to stand for a platform worthy of South Dakota's families, farmers, and future.

✅ Melissa Hull — State Treasurer
✅ Catherine Barranco — State Auditor
✅ Don Haggar — Public Utilities Commissioner
✅ Brock Greenfield — Commissioner of School & Public Lands

And a special congratulations to Lance Russell, our nominee for Attorney General — running unopposed in November! 🇺🇸

🗳️ Reminder: Hand County GOP Central Committee Meeting is TONIGHT!

Tonight, Monday, June 22nd at 7:00 PM CST, we are holding our Hand County GOP Central Committee Meeting at the Hand County Courthouse.

Come engage with fellow patriots as we discuss local issues that matter most to Hand County families — supporting our agricultural heritage, defending property rights, upholding limited government, and protecting the constitutional values that make South Dakota strong. All efforts will remain aligned with the SDGOP Platform, the U.S. Constitution, the South Dakota Constitution, and applicable SDCL regulations.

All registered Republicans in Hand County are invited and encouraged to attend. Your participation helps strengthen our local party and ensures principled representation for our communities.

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who work hard every day to provide for their families, teach strong values, and build a better future for our communities here in rural South Dakota. Whether you're on the farm, in the shop, coaching little league, or leading your household with faith and integrity, your role is the foundation of strong families — and strong families make a strong America. ❤️

In Hand County, we know the importance of these timeless principles: the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and the vital role of parents in raising the next generation.
