As schools start back this week, here is what we are asking from all of you:

Before you post that first-day photo, look at the background and the sign. Skip the school name, the street sign, the house numbers, and your child's full name, grade, and teacher. Take the photo somewhere private and keep the details vague. π’π‘πšπ«πž 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐩!

Out on the road, slow down! School zones are reduced speed for a reason, and kids walking and biking to school will step off curbs without looking. When a bus turns on its red stop lights πŸ›‘ and extends the stop arm, you stop (on a two-lane road that means both directions.) Ten seconds of your morning is not worth what you could lose.

π‚πŽππ•πˆπ‚π“πˆπŽπ 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄

MPD would like to share an update on a child s*xual exploitation case. Joshua Haddix was arrested in August 2025 as a result of an investigation initiated by Chief Smith in July.

Haddix recently pled guilty in Bourbon County Circuit Court to three counts of Procure Or Promote Use Of A Minor By Electronic Means. Per the plea agreement, Haddix was sentenced to πŸ“ π˜π„π€π‘π’ in prison and upon release, will be required to register as a s*x offender. Per KY law, Haddix is required to serve 85% of his prison sentence.

MPD would like to commend the 14th Judicial Circuit Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for their hard work and dedication in prosecuting this case.

We are proud to announce that Triston Brooks was recently sworn in by Millersburg Mayor Julie Hopkins as MPD's newest recruit. We are excited to have him join the department and know he will be a fantastic asset to MPD and to The 'Burg as a whole! On August 9th, he begins his 20-week training at DOCJT in Richmond, KY.

Please join us in welcoming Recruit Brooks as he officially begins this next chapter with the Millersburg Police Department!
