The traffic light on Main and 5th is coming down today and the Kentucky Department of Transportation is replacing it with a 4 way stop. Please use caution in this area while we all get acclimated to this change!

Today didn’t go exactly as planned—but I think that makes what happened even more special.

After the storm, the front lawn of the Civic Center simply wasn’t in condition for today’s Ice Cream Social. Like many places around town, we’ve been dealing with storm cleanup, downed trees and debris, and there was still work to be done.

But instead of letting that stop the celebration, Ms. Libby Smith quickly changed course and made sure the event went on.

Libby worked hard to bring our local churches together to provide music and entertainment, coordinated the ice cream, and included our Millersburg Fire Department in the day. Because of her efforts—and because people were willing to work together—we still had a wonderful community gathering.

That is the part of today I hope we remember.

After a storm, everything may not be cleaned up or back to normal immediately. But today showed something I’m very proud of: when plans changed, our community adapted, pitched in and kept going.

A big thank you to Ms. Libby, our local churches, our fire department, and everyone who helped make today possible. ❤️
