The College Bound Series is BACK! This series can only be found at the FFSC NSAMS and is facilitated by 2 parent survivors. Let us help you and your student navigate between their options of applying to colleges, joining the military, going to a trade school or entering the workforce directly after high school. And that's just week 1! The following weeks walk you through Teen Job Searches, Finding money for College and College Bound, the logistics of getting your student to college. What you think you know, but don't. For more information please reach out to Diane Brown at 901-874-7343 or [email protected]. This workshop will be facilitated on MS Teams Wednesday evenings in April, between 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m. and we encourage both parent and students to attend together.

We know you have many questions about the government shutdown. Until further notice, all non-essential federal operations are paused until a funding agreement has been reached.

We are here to help you navigate this time. Please know that we have mentors available 24/7 in our Global Mentorship-HUB to answer your questions and provide resources.

Here are a few resources that will be continuing without interruption:

• Military OneSource remains fully operational worldwide, 24/7. Families can continue to access counseling, information, and resources online and by phone.

• Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) continues uninterrupted. If installation access is limited, counselors will work offsite to maintain support.

• Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) career center and MySECO sites remain active. Coaches continue to provide services to military spouses.

• Child Development Centers (CDCs) & School Age Care (SACs): Army, DLA, Navy, and Marine Corp Child Development Centers will continue to operate as normal; Air Force centers will operate but may alter hours of operation and reduce capacity depending on location and mission needs.

Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp Fee Assistance Programs (MCCYN) will continue to operate as normal.

Child Care in Your Home will continue to operate as normal

• DoDEA Schools: Schools remain open, but all extracurricular activities—including sports—are suspended.

• Family Advocacy Program (FAP): Services may vary by installation, but domestic abuse victim advocates remain reachable through Military OneSource’s locator and national hotlines.

• MyCAA: No new tuition assistance approvals after Sept. 30, but spouses with approved funding may continue classes.

• Commissaries: All 235 commissaries remain open for at least 60 days. OCONUS and remote CONUS commissaries will remain open regardless; other CONUS locations may gradually suspend operations depending on funding.

• Exchanges, lodging, and MWR fitness facilities remain open as essential operations. Some non-excepted MWR/NAF activities may be impacted depending on local funding.

• Military Funeral Honors and casualty/mortuary affairs support will continue. Some locations may experience limited capacity, but honors for eligible service members will not stop.
