Tonight concludes three nights of Water Rescue Operational Exercises at Orgill (Casper) Lake in Millington. Crews worked through scenarios that included dusk-nighttime operations, launching boats from the shoreline, cutting through roofs to simulate rescues from flooded homes, locating points on the lake using GPS coordinates, and performing low-angle rope rescues.
These exercises gave water rescue teams the chance to train together and build working relationships before responding to real-world rescue missions.

Participating teams include:

Germantown Fire Department
Munford Fire Department
Shelby County Fire Department

🚨NOTICE OF FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING, PAINTING, AND WATER MAIN FLUSHING

The City of Millington has contracted Rogers Hydrant Service to perform routine fire hydrant testing, painting, and water main flushing beginning this week, and continuing throughout the months of April and May. Work will begin north of 385.

Maintenance activities will take place during week days, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

During this time, residents may experience temporary discoloration of water. If this occurs, we recommend running your cold water tap for several minutes until the water runs clear. As a precaution, please avoid doing laundry until discoloration has fully cleared.

This essential operation ensures the proper functioning of the City’s fire hydrants and supports our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality water service to our residents.

🎥 Millington Board of Mayor and Aldermen Meetings Now Available Online

For the first time, residents can now watch your Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings on the City of Millington YouTube channel. Our team has worked hard to produce a meeting format that is informative and easy to follow, including displaying resolutions and ordinances on screen so viewers can track the discussion in real time.

Our goal is to post regular BMA meeting recordings within 48 hours of each meeting, and ultimately move towards live streaming future meetings.

A few Highlights from the first recorded meeting include:
• Confirmation of Millington Fire Department Fire Chief Robbie Franks, bringing more than two decades of fire service leadership to Millington
• Recognition of Millington Trojans Coach Chris Michael for his outstanding contributions to Millington athletics and generations of student athletes
• Progress on the effort to Save the Harrold, helping return this historic structure to active community use
• Infrastructure improvements at the North Water Treatment Facility that will improve our water system and return more land for recreational use near Baker Community Center.

At 8:27 PM last night (March 12, 2026), the Millington Fire Department received a report of a commercial fire at 5427 Navy Rd.
