Tonight I will take an Oath of Office for all of District 1. Whether you voted for me or my opponent, I am honored to serve and represent you.

I’d like to thank God for all the blessings, wisdom and knowledge he has placed in me. I will do my best to utilize all my God Given Talents for His Glory and to better the lives of every resident in District 1 & Shelby County.

I’d also like to thank my family, Dave, Murtle, and all my family across this great Country who have loved and supported me! And to everyone who prayed, gave money, time, wisdom and bugged all their friends and family to vote - I owe you more than I will ever be able to show my gratitude.

This is OUR VICTORY and OUR MOMENT!!!! Let’s Go District 1!!!

Good morning District 1,

I love this analogy - I say this in a different way…. How can we recruit good law enforcement, firefighters, employees if we don’t support them!

They will come if they know their elected officials & the citizens support them!

I saw a cute doggie in a car on my way home and I was yelling “tell your doggie hi” to the driver. I’m not sure she understood. lol

I want to send a shout out to our current Commissioner Amber Mills for representing us at the ribbon cutting for the new Tunnel to Towers Memphis Veterans Village for our homeless veterans.

Dear District 1 Patriots,

This campaign journey created memories and friendships that will be with me forever. Dave and I just returned home from the 11 Precinct tour - volunteers are line up and ready to help you tomorrow.

Before I lay my head down tonight I want to thank everyone for the encouragement, support, advice, help and your confidence in me. My heart is full.

Today was difficult for our family - this is the anniversary of Sean Bolton’s passing. While on duty, Patrolman Bolton was shot and killed in Memphis.

He was a beloved son, brother and friend. He was avid book reader and very intelligent young man. Sean was one of Dave’s partner on the Memphis Police Department and the loss was very personal.

His family and all of his brothers in blue are in our prayers. R.I.P. Sean Semper Fi brother!

One reason why I fight so hard for law enforcement is because I’ve been one of the wives that when you hear bad news - you immediately think of your husband’s safety and pray to God for his protection. The families go through more than the public will ever understand.
