We had a little messy science fun at the library last week with Emily from University of Maine Cooperative Extension Penobscot County 🌊🧪

Kids made their own seaweed squishies while learning about seaweed and some of the many ways it can be used. A big thank-you to Emily for bringing this fun, hands-on activity to the library!

And we’re not done with Summer Reading yet! 🎉 Join us this Friday, August 21, from 3-4:30pm for our End-of-Summer Celebration at the library. We’ll have games, snacks, and prizes for kids who participated in our Summer Reading Program.
We hope to see you there! 📚☀️

Last Friday we hosted a wonderful presentation from author Douglas Rooks on his new book, "Transformational: Ken Curtis, Maine's Reform Governor," the establishment of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway and a broader conversation about Maine's public lands. Tim Caverly, author and former director of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, and Mike Michaud, former Congressman and East Millinocket Selectman joined the presentation as panelists to discuss the history of public lands preservation in Maine. Thank you to all who attended!
