The mission of the Millis Police Department is to consistently find ways to promote, preserve, and deliver a sense of security, safety and quality of life to the people of Millis. To fulfill our mission, we are committed to:

Acknowledging our responsibility to the citizens of Millis, our source of authority;

Performing our duties within the spirit and the lett

er of our laws and constitution;

Remaining sensitive to human needs and treating each person with respect, compassion and dignity;

Approaching each situation as unique and responding creatively with empathy and prudent use of discretion;

This morning, Millis Police officers collaborated with the Millis Public School Transportation Department to monitor and enforce traffic violations. Officers were present on the buses and also followed them.

Every year, the second week in April is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time to highlight the dedicated professionals behind the scenes who keep our community and officers connected, informed, and safe.

At Millis Police Department, our Dispatchers are the steady voice on the other end of the line, handling emergencies, coordinating responses, and managing countless moving pieces with focus and care. Every call they take matters, and their ability to stay calm, think quickly, and act decisively makes a real difference in critical moments.

Their role goes far beyond answering phones. They are the link between the public and first responders, often guiding callers through some of their most difficult moments while ensuring help arrives as quickly as possible. Their work requires resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to service.

We are grateful every day for the professionalism and dedication of our Dispatch team. This week, and every week, we thank them for all they do.

Training Announcement Millis High School

On Monday April 13th, In-Control driving safety will be working with juniors and seniors at Millis High. State-certified In Control instructors will conduct short ride-along demonstrations on school grounds, showing students how a vehicle responds in real-world situations. The instructors will focus on:
* The importance of always wearing a seat belt
* How even small increases in speed affect control
* Staying engaged and focused while in a vehicle
Understanding the dangers of impairment, including alcohol, drugs, and drowsiness.
They will be using the area of the bus loop and the back exit to the school for the training. Anyone who parks along the grass line, in the diagonal spaces along the side of the middle school or along the fence by the football field will need to park the back lot or the lower lot at CFB.
