🎓✨ Mayor Juarez rolled out the red carpet in Mills to welcome the students back to school!

Wyoming Classical Academy students got a special welcome as they arrived for their first day of school!

There was no shortage of smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm as students kicked off a brand-new school year. It was a great reminder of what makes our community so special our kids!

The City of Mills is proud to support our schools and celebrate the students, educators, and families who make our community stronger.

Here’s to a school year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and plenty of great memories!

The Mayor and select department heads have been leading a multi-year effort to ensure property tax classifications within the City of Mills are accurate and properly assigned.

This work focuses on verifying that all properties located within Mills city boundaries are correctly listed under Mills, rather than being misattributed to Casper or other nearby jurisdictions. The overall goal of this project is to make sure taxpayer dollars generated in Mills are returned to Mills, and are used to support local services such as infrastructure.

During this process, the City identified properties where tax revenues and related payments were being directed to the wrong entity. This has reinforced the importance of accurate boundary and address alignment, especially as Mills continues its effort to secure a unique ZIP Code for its physical city limits. City leaders believe the shared ZIP Code structure contributes to ongoing issues with misdirected tax distributions and franchise fees. Addressing these inconsistencies is a key part of ensuring fairness and accuracy in local revenue collection and distribution.

Ultimately, improving property tax accuracy strengthens Mills financially and ensures that taxes directly benefits the residents who live here.

Mayor Juarez is proud to have held the line and ensured a fair negotiation to the Mills water tower cell tower. After a lengthy negotiation, we are proud of the agreement and appreciate the partnership. Mills has successfully negotiated a lease with AT&T for a communications tower located on city property, creating a strong and reliable revenue stream for years to come. The tower not only generates steady income that helps fund city services and programs, but also supports critical communications infrastructure, improving cell coverage and connectivity for residents, businesses, and emergency services. By leveraging existing city assets like this tower, Mills maximizes taxpayer value and ensures long-term financial stability for the community.

We are working hard to find ways to save the taxpayers money everyday!
