From us: Thank you for all the likes, shares, and conversations that each and every one of you had. More people out there know about the library and hopefully Plan B comes sooner rather than later!

From the Millstadt Library:
According to the unofficial results, we'll be moving towards Plan B.

As we said yesterday, no matter the outcome, we will move forward. We have to. Story time is still on Wednesday. Someone has to be there to move the furniture so we can help children learn and grow with story time! And we still love every minute of it!

We want to thank everyone who called, sent messages, and stopped by today. Your support means the world to us.

For those of you who haven’t heard the results, the Millstadt Library’s School District Annexation Referendum did not pass. The Yes votes were 858 and the No votes were 1,834. The breakdown of in district and out of district as well as precinct by precinct results have not been official yet, but...

Our 3 kids got to GROW and thrive, and now our 5 grands. Libraries CULTIVATE community heart and FERTILIZE literacy that makes us smart. Libraries PLANT resources & spaces that can be accessed by all. Offer a bountiful HARVEST of which we’ve never seen - the current location no longer meets our community’s needs. We reap what we SOW, so we can’t possibility vote no. Instead, we VOTE YES to ensure this area’s future success. So be a PEACH. The ask is small. We would love for you to VOTE YES so the Millstadt Library can not only build a new library, but a community center NEXT YEAR.
*For those already inside Village Limits: Nothing changes for you as far as your taxes. The rate (0.150000) stays the same as it has always been.
*For those outside Village Limits: If your district passes the vote, you would be annexed into the LIBRARY District and a tax rate of 0.150000 would be added to your yearly taxes AND you would be able to utilize everything the Millstadt Library has to offer!
