May is upon us, and so is the National Click It or Ticket campaign, a reminder that safety starts the moment you get in the car.

The Milpitas Police Department is joining agencies nationwide in emphasizing one simple action that saves lives every day: buckle up.

Seat belts take just seconds to put on, but they can be the critical difference between walking away from a crash and suffering a life-changing injury. It doesn’t matter if you’re heading across town or just a few blocks down the road, every trip deserves the same level of safety.

This campaign is about more than enforcement. It’s about awareness, prevention, and protecting the people we care about most.

Make it automatic. Make it non-negotiable. Buckle up, every trip, every time.
