City of Milton-Freewater, Oregon The City of Milton-Freewater was created in 1951 Lots of sun in the summer and mild winters contribute to an almost perfect climate.

Located in northeastern Oregon (just 8 miles south of Walla Walla, Washington), Milton-Freewater is a community surrounded by orchards, wheat fields and vineyards set against the beautiful Blue Mountains (yes, they really are blue!)

Long before the two towns of Milton and Freewater merged in 1950, settlers flocked to this area to take advantage of the fertile soil. Now situated within the acclaim

ed Walla Walla Valley Wine Appellation, the area is still well known for its agricultural bounty. According to the most recent figures, our population is 7060. The City provides all City utilities, including electric service. City Light and Power is the oldest municipal electric utility operating in the State of Oregon and also offers one of the lowest power rates in the northwest.

Marie Dorion Park Update 🛝

Great progress is happening at Marie Dorion Park! Here's where things stand:

Completed:
• New roofs on the restroom and Power House shelter buildings
• Playground (open for use now!)
• Sidewalks
• ADA access improvements

Coming in the next few weeks:
• Two new park benches
• New Marie Dorion history sign
• Security cameras
• Parking lot painting
