Happy Friday Unboxing, everyone!

Thanks for yet another fantastic week at the library. We're only two weeks into the summer, and we've already seen over 4,300 library visitors. Keep on visiting us!

This weekend, don't forget about our first Wizard of Oz book discussion tomorrow at 11:00 at Sharla's Coffee Stop. We're looking forward to a great conversation - and a fun Emerald City drink!

And we have Funday Sunday: Games & Puzzles on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00.

Tweens and teens (and Ashlee and Marijka) had a GREAT time at Maddie Strong Studios today for Wizard of Oz-inspired pottery painting! Thank you, Jennifer, for welcoming us into your creative studio and proving some fun options for the youth!

We can't wait to see how these all turn out. Parents, we would love for you to share the items in the comments below when they're complete and fired!

Our first The Wizard of Oz discussion is coming up this Saturday at Sharla's Coffee Stop from 11:00 to 12:00! Come join us for a low-key, relaxed discussion about Dorothy and her travel companions.

Rumor has it that there will be a special Emerald City drink for purchase!

Right now, 60% of our copies of The Wizard of Oz are checked out! So we know people are reading them. Haven't picked your copy up yet? Still plenty of time to read before Saturday. But we do have two more opportunities to discuss the book:
-- Wizard of Oz Book Discussion @ Elmside Goods on July 16, at 5:30
-- Wizard of Oz Book Discussion @ Sunny + Olive on August 9, at 2:00

Who is reading The Wizard of Oz for the first time this summer?! If you're reading it for the first time or have read it before, share your review in the comments!

Back again this summer is our collaboration with the Milton House Museum and offering Milton House Museum Experience Passes!

With your library card, you can can check out a museum pass that gives two adults and 3 children under the age of 18 a one-time admission to the Milton House Museum for FREE. A fantastic opportunity to learn about this amazing part of Milton's history.

The passes must be used within a week of "checkout." We ask that families take advantage of this opportunity through the library just once a summer.

The museum will be open Tuesdays - Sundays (closed Mondays) for tours of the museum. Tours will be offered 10 am - 4 pm, with the last tour beginning at 3 pm, and start at the top of every hour. Walk in tours are welcome!

Please see staff for any questions!

We're so excited for our Jim Lyke Original Story Reading program coming up next Tuesday, June 23, at 6:30!

Jim has written an original story about the Wizard visiting Milton, with a stop at the Milton House Museum and the Milton Public Library.

Jim and friends will be doing a read-aloud of the story in our Story Gardens!

We will also have his story available to purchase, with original drawings by Alison McDole! Booklets will first be available for purchase the night of the event for $8.00. Any remaining booklets will be available for purchase at the library while supplies last.

We are so appreciative of Jim and Alison for collaborating to create something unique just for the library and our community-wide reading initiative.
