February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Data from CDC’s 2019 Youth Risk Behavior Survey indicates, that 1 in 12 U.S high school students experience physical dating violence and 1 in 12 U.S high school students experience sexual dating violence. Supporting healthy, nonviolent relationships reduces TDV (Teen Dating Violence) and prevents long team, lasting effects on individuals such as depression, anxiety, substance use, and antisocial behavior. It is critical for our young people to begin learning skills to create and maintain healthy relationships, including managing feelings and communication in a healthy way.
To learn more about TDV and how you can help yourself or someone you care about, please use the resources below.

Celebrate the start of Black History Month with us! Take a moment to read NPR's article on 3 important things to know about Black History Month. This year, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History has declared "Black Resistance" as its theme.

The annual celebration started out in 1926 as Negro History Week and expanded to Black History Month in the 1970s. This year's theme is "Black Resistance."
