A native of southwest Louisiana, I enlisted in the US Army at age 19, served in Vietnam with the Fourth Infantry Division, and was honorably discharged after 4 and a half years on active duty, as a non commissioned officer. Currently, I am a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol and served as a Squadron Commander. I hold an Associate degree in Business Administration and one in General Education. My wif

e, Julia, and I live in Milton, NC, have 9 adult children, 12 grandchildren, and expecting our first great-grandchild. I am an active Bible Teacher and a musician on the worship team at Evangel Assemblies of God Church in Ringgold, Va. I am a substitute teacher and bus driver at the Bartlett Yancey High School in Yanceyville, NC. I am not a politician, but a working class citizen who identifies with the struggles of everyday people and at age 67, believe the time is right to enter public service as a State Senator, safeguarding the ideal of "a government of the people, for the people, by the people."
