Last evening, Sgt. Corder and Officer Cook showcased our gear and squad at the National Night Out event hosted by the Edgerton Police Department. Event attendees learned about the profession, our duty gear, and squad equipment. Thanks for coming out and hanging out with all of the first responders!

Officer James Becker was sworn in this morning as our 13th officer. James will begin his training soon at the Blackhawk Technical College Law Enforcement Academy before returning to us for field training.
City Clerk Jenny Salvo completed his Oath of Office and Chief Brandon Sachse read the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor with Anthony affirming it. James' mother pinned on his badge to complete the ceremony.

July 4th was a busy one for the department, but we took a brief moment to recognize Officer Samantha Ziebell as our 2026 Police Officer of the Year. Thank you for the hard work you do for this department and the Milton community!

The parade starts on Madison Avenue at the intersection with Crescent Drive and proceeds east down Madison Avenue to Hilltop Drive where the parade route then heads south to Municipal Drive.

City staff will start the closure of the parade route at 11:00 a.m. for the 4th of July Parade. By noon, the route will be completely closed, and no vehicles will be allowed to travel down the parade route and other closed roads leading to the route. Traffic on CTY M from the west will be routed through Sunset Dr.

If you are planning to utilize the handicap parking at the Milton Middle School or Milton West Elementary School, you must also be there by noon.

The parade starts at 1:00 p.m., and Madison Avenue will remain closed until approximately 4:00 p.m.

The Milton Police Department lobby will be closing on Thursday, July 2nd at 10:00 a.m. and will remain closed on Friday, July 3rd. It will reopen Monday, July 6th.
As always, our vestibule remains open and a phone is available to contact the Rock County 911 Communications Center.

This Friday, June 26th, will mark Detective Ryan Justice's last day in the office. Today, Det. Justice was presented with a retirement plaque in recognition of his 25+ years of service to the Milton community.

A plaque certainly isn't a sufficient thank you for your contributions, but hopefully it will serve as a small reminder of the great work you've done for our department. Thank you Ryan, and we all wish you the best in retirement!
