🚨FIREFIGHTERS QUICK RESPONSE SAVES RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE🚨
On Thursday the 27th at approximately 10:28 AM, Station 22 was dispatched to a residential fire investigation. Arriving on scene to a two-story residential structure, firefighters entered the residence, and noticed a haze of smoke on the first floor of the residence. Station 23 was immediately called for manpower. Using our Thermal Imaging Camera’s, firefighters located an extreme amount of heat in the living room ceiling, just below the master bathroom. Crews pulled ceiling and found an active fire, close to a gas line, between the first floor ceiling and the second floor bathroom. Gas and Power utilities were shut off, and the fire was extinguished. Cause of the fire was believed to be due to a lightning strike in the residence. No injuries occurred to residents or firefighters during operations. Due to the quick work and readiness of crews on scene, the fire was quickly extinguished, and the structure was saved.
During the fire, we received another call for a Vehicle Fire at a gas station near our Station 1. Due to the majority of manpower being at the structure fire, units from Station 11 assisted several personnel from Station 22 in extinguishing the vehicle. No injuries occurred to civilians or firefighters during the fire. Cause of the fire is believed to have been from an electrical issue with the vehicle.
