A couple weeks ago while our area was experiencing historic flooding resources were stretched thin and with more rain in the forecast we made an emergency purchase of some very basic water rescue equipment incase we had more flooding and with more of the state experiencing flooding in the region there were minimal water rescue teams and equipment available. To help our community and those surrounding ours if the need arose. Which thankfully the rain for the most part missed us. But the company we bought it from at 6pm delivered it at about 1030, gave us in service training and we now have some of the most BASIC equipment to assist if this happens again in the area. We are hoping to expand the equipment and training in the future if we can secure donations and grants to do so. This equipment is readily available to ANY department or community that may possibly need it, and we we are discussing with both the state and private companies about hosting some water rescue classes in our area. We hope this will never happen again, but this community has been greatly affected by this and we are working on preparedness and community resiliency for all of our communities to keep our family, friends, neighbors, and residents safe. These resources will primarily be available for Wayne, Henry, Union, Fayette, and Randolph counties and in support of the minimal resources out there.
