Eagle Drive at Par Lane will be closed, weather permitting, beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, as part of the Pine Blossom Drainage Project. This closure is expected to last for up to three weeks.

Residents will still have access to their homes during this closure.

The next Movie in the Parks is happening Friday, June 26 at Tiger Point Park! Get the details below. ⬇️

Santa Rosa County invites residents and visitors to enjoy an evening under the stars at the Movie in the Parks summer series. Below are the movies scheduled through July:

Friday, June 26, Featuring: Cars © Disney/Pixar – Tiger Point Park (1370 Tiger Park Lane, Gulf Breeze)

Friday, July 10, Featuring: Inside Out © Disney/Pixar – Benny Russell Park (5417 W. Spencer Field Road, Pace)

Friday, July 24, Featuring: Zootopia 2 © Disney Enterprises Inc. – Tiger Point Park (1370 Tiger Park Lane, Gulf Breeze)

All movies will be shown at sunset. Admission is free and open to the public. Popcorn will be provided.

This summer series will run through September 11, running every second Friday of the month at Benny Russell Park and on the fourth Friday of the month at Tiger Point Park. A full schedule of movies and dates can be found online at www.santarosa.fl.gov/1141/Movie-in-the-Parks.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for a fun-filled evening of entertainment. Local food truck vendors will be on-site, and movies will be shown on a large outdoor screen, creating a theater-like experience in the heart of Santa Rosa County’s beloved parks. Visitors are responsible for purchases from food trucks.

-Gordon Land Road
-Springhill Road, at Wagner Bridge over Big Coldwater Creek, just east of Lewis Road
-Walling Road, at Jones Bridge, just north of Highway 178
-Red Rock Road, at Red Rock Bridge
-Deaton Bridge Road, at Deaton Bridge
-Amos Cabaniss Road

- Gordon Land Road
- Springhill Road, at Wagner Bridge over Big Coldwater Creek, just east of Lewis Road
- Walling Road, at Jones Bridge, just north of Highway 178

Drivers should use extreme caution throughout the northern end of the county and use alternative routes. Remember, turn around, don't drown.

Drivers are urged to NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES; there is no way to tell how deep the water is on a roadway or if the roadway is damaged.

Thursday, June 18, 6 p.m. - Several roadways in north Santa Rosa County are currently passable with hazards due to flooding, particularly the following areas:

-Highway 87 N. at Bullard Road
-Highway 89 just south of Calvary Church Road
-Various portions of Country Mill Road

Drivers should use extreme caution in the area and avoid these areas, if possible. Remember, turn around, don't drown. There is no way to tell how deep the water is on a roadway or if the roadway is damaged.

UPDATE: Wednesday, June 17, 4 p.m. - Due to weather conditions, overnight paving along Chumuckla Highway at Giddens Lane will now begin at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. The southbound lane of Chumuckla Highway at Giddens Lane will be closed as a contractor does milling and paving of the lane associated with the Giddens Lane turn lane project, weather permitting. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 25.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, the northbound lane of Chumuckla Highway and Giddens Lane will be closed for milling and paving by the contractor, weather permitting. The roadway will reopen by 5 a.m. on Friday, June 26.

Giddens Turn Lane Project:

To improve safety and increase traffic capacity at the intersection of Giddens Lane and Chumuckla Highway, a dedicated right‑turn lane has been identified as a needed improvement. This project is being funded through the Transportation Impact Fee fund, which is limited to capacity‑enhancing infrastructure.

West Spencer Field Roundabout Update June 15, 2026

Here's what has been completed since the end of March. The project is currently on time and the road is expected to open before school starts back in August.

- The contractor has poured the concrete curbs and gutters in the project area.
- Sidewalks have been installed. Crews are finishing up driveway tie ins and drainage inlets.
- Once concrete work is done, slopes will be dressed and sodded at the back of the sidewalks.
- Roadway base material has been installed and work continues on the final prep for asphalt installation. Paving is currently expected to start at the end of June.

Once the asphalt has been installed there is still a considerable amount of work to be completed. FPL will install lighting around the roundabout, then the contractor will need to apply striping and all other necessary road markings, signage, and ADA required items at the crosswalks around the area.

Santa Rosa County invites the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the Floridatown Park Living Shoreline Project, a major environmental resilience initiative designed to protect the shoreline while enhancing local habitat and water quality.

The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16 at Floridatown Park, 3900 Floridatown Road in Pace. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place at the pavilion in the park.

Floridatown Park provides public boating access and recreational amenities for residents and visitors. Over the years, the park's shoreline has experienced significant erosion from storm surge and extreme weather events. The public is encouraged to attend and learn more about how living shorelines can benefit coastal communities and ecosystems.

UPDATE Wednesday, June 17 - Due to weather conditions, pavement repairs on Garcon Point Road between Sundial Boulevard and Slalom Road have been rescheduled to begin Monday, June 22, at 7 p.m.

Milling of the road will take place from 7 p.m. on Monday, June 22, to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23.

Paving will take place beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23. Weather permitting, work should be completed by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24.

Drivers should expect delays and follow the directions of flaggers. Use caution while workers are present.
