We cornered some of the Building Inspections team members to talk about tips for a smoother building process and the expected (and unexpected) things inspectors always keep in their trucks during inspections.

From hand sanitizer and tape measures to years of training and experience, our inspectors are here to help keep projects safe, compliant and built to last. 🏗️

Watch the video to hear directly from the team working behind the scenes to help protect our community every day.

Building safety isn’t just about strength, it’s also about accessibility. For this final week of Building Safety Month, we’ll be highlighting building for everyone!
Safe spaces are designed for everyone. From ramps and entryways to accessible features throughout a building, these elements help ensure people can live, work and move safely and comfortably.

Our role is to verify that these features meet code requirements. Helping build a safe, functional community for all.

Our building inspections team is here to guide you through the process and ensure that everything is built with safety in mind. Because at the end of the day, building safety means creating a community without limits.

All gave some...some gave all. Remember them this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

WHEREAS, since 1868, Memorial Day has been an American day of remembrance upon which we pay our respects to and honor the memory of more than one million Americans who died in battle making the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms; and

WHEREAS, in keeping with the traditions that have preceded us, many of us have friends and family members who have selflessly given themselves to the future of this great nation and who we honor on this day; and

WHEREAS, these service members were someone’s child, someone’s spouse, someone’s parent, it is important that we remember every day, in this great nation, that our freedom came at a price; and

WHEREAS, veterans have bravely served in all parts of the world, fighting for not only our freedoms but for all mankind; and

WHEREAS, Santa Rosa County joins with other counties throughout the State of Florida and the United States of America in honoring those who have given their lives and recognizing that their sacrifices were noble, their heroism unparalleled and their dedication to God and Country unforgettable.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that May 25, 2026, be observed as Memorial Day.
