The LAST Summer Library tomorrow at 1:00! Please make sure to bring all your books back. It will also be a shorter one I think because my plan is to have it like an art gallery with all the kid's stuff so make sure to stick around!

Today we read "The book with no pictures" by B.J Novak to show that words have power. The kids then wrote out our own stories one of which is pictured. They also got to design their own planet as a bonus fun activity. THERE WILL BE NO SUMMER LIBRARY NEXT WEEK. The next and last one with be the week following but I have not decided a day yet as it was brought to my attention that school enrollment will be starting. That being said the last summer library is going to be gallery of all the different types of art forms the kids got to learn about this summer. Stay tuned for more updates and thank you all for making this possible!

Today we read the book "If Kids Ran the World" by Leo and Diane Dillon. The kids then got to paint their clay projects from last week. With great fun comes great messes but boy was it fun to see what they had created come to life with a little (or a lot) of paint. Next week we will be back to our regular time, Thursday at 1:00. Sorry for the time change for today and thank you for understanding. See you all next week!

Today at summer library we read Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty to go along with our 3D art design day. We played with air dry clay and aluminum foil, creating what some may say are professional level sculptures. Over all I think today was a success and can't wait to see everyone next Thursday!

SUMMER LIBRARY TOMORROW!

Today we read Pete the Cat: Rocking in my School Shoes. The theme for today being music the challenge was to make instruments out of everyday items like toilet paper rolls and beans. At the beginning of every summer library we have time where the kids can build with logos or play games. Today we had a few girls make some really cool houses one of which is featured in the post the other right by it. Can't wait to see you all next week for another day of exploring the arts!

Today we read What to do with an idea by Kobi Yamada and The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. We then let our creativity flow by drawing on ceramic tiles with sharpies that we then "ruined" by dropping rubbing alcohol on. This created a tie dye effect.
