Each year, Denim Day takes place at the end of April to bring awareness to sexual violence and help end victim blaming.

• There are about 207,754 survivors (age 12 and up) of rape every year.

• Every 2 minutes in the United States, someone is sexually assaulted.

• Over 17 million women in America are victims of an attempted or completed rape.

• Survivors of sexual violence are 26 times more likely to use drugs.

• 80% of rape survivors are under the age of 30.

• Most rapes are committed by someone the survivor knows—family member, friend, partner, etc.

• Sexual violence knows no boundaries. Survivors are male, female, young, old, gay, straight, from all ethnicities and socioeconomic levels.

Unfortunately, false assumptions can increase the risk of infection and the odds of transmitting the virus to someone else. The Eta Zeta Chapter of UWM invites you to join us for a discussion on HIV/AIDS with Hailey Keeser, PharmD AAHIVP as we acknowledge National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, 3/10/2021 @ 7 PM. Come learn, share and take action!

The 2021 Virtual Black History Quiz Bowl sponsored by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - Gamma Pi Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Milwaukee, WI and Safe & Sound, Inc. will be hosted on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

The Black History Quiz Bowl has traditionally been held in an effort to foster a community approach to learning black history. This year, we are in search of teams of young people who are willing to study the information provided and show themselves equipped with the knowledge of power during our Jeopardy-style competition.

Looking for middle/high school teams of four!
