Yesterday the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Cadet Post 890 participated in the annual Public Safety Cadet competition! MCSO Cadets had an outstanding performance at the 2026 MPD Competition!

Team 1 brought home: 🥈 2nd Place – Suspicious Person scenario 🥈 2nd Place – Traffic Stop scenario  🥉 3rd Place – Crisis Intervention scenario
🏆 Elite Champion – Best Overall

Team 2 brought home:
🥈2nd place - Active Threat

This the third competition in a row that cadets have earned a first overall award! The team’s hard work, dedication, and teamwork are truly showing and coming together!

We are hosting a MCSO Cadet Post Orientation!
If you are between the ages of 14-20 years old and interested in possibly pursuing a career in law enforcement, we invite you to come join us. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the cadet program, meet current members and explore what it’s like to serve your community.

During the orientation, you’ll:
Learn about the Cadet Program
Meet advisors and current cadets
Ask questions about law enforcement/public safety careers
Find out how to get involved

We look forward to seeing there and helping you take the first step toward a future in law enforcement!

Huge congratulations to former MCSO Cadet D. Singh who was a cadet for 8 years on successfully completing his Jailers certification and becoming a Correctional Officer!

During our meeting this week Sheriff Denita Ball treated cadets to pizza and soda for their accomplishments at their recent State Conference.

In between bites cadets studied and learned the Milwaukee Co. freeway system and major interchanges because it is essential to the job.

Thank you Sheriff Ball for the pizza and continued support of our program!

Congratulations to former Cadet Sergeant D. Warichak on aging out of the MCSO Cadet Program after seven outstanding years of service. Your dedication, leadership, and countless contributions to the post and the residents of Milwaukee County have left a lasting impact. Thank you for your commitment and all that you’ve given to the program and the community.

Over the weekend, our Cadets participated in Annual State Conference and Competition in Wisconsin Dells. Competing against approximately 20 teams from across the state, our Cadets demonstrated exceptional professionalism, teamwork, and skill—bringing home multiple awards.

Awards earned include:

Presidential Award (Best Overall Team)

1st Place – Incident Command

3rd Place – Vehicle Contacts

3rd Place – Force Options (MILO)

In addition, we are proud to announce that Advisor and Mentor Deputy K. Rodriguez was recognized as the 2025 Mentor of the Year.

Both teams performed at a high level, and we could not be more proud of their hard work and dedication. Thank you to for hosting an outstanding conference.
