ā€œTraining alongside law enforcement gave both organizations greater insight into one anotherā€™s tactics, techniques and procedures, and allowed us to have a far deeper discussion regarding capabilities, equipment and options, especially at the ā€˜on the streetā€™ level. During the planning phase, police officers were able to gain valuable insights into how we plan training while Guard officers and noncommissioned officers were able to better understand the tactical aspects of crowd management from a police perspective.ā€

Last month the 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Headquarters Support Company held a change of responsibility ceremony where First Sgt. Ann Felhofer transferred responsibility of the company to First Sgt. Douglas LaFave.

Felhofer served as the unit's first sergeant for more than four years.

"Beyond being tactically and technically proficient, she is a compassionate, approachable and trustworthy leader, someone who always keeps Soldier care at the forefront of what she does," said Capt. Simon Lewis, commander of the Headquarters Support Company. "She has given not only unwavering support, but candid feedback and constructive criticism to leaders across the formation and in doing so she continues to build a strong foundation for the future and proves a great steward of the profession of arms."

In her final time addressing the unit as the first sergeant, Felhofer thanked her family for their support and the Soldiers of the unit for all of their contributions.

Congratulations to First Sgt. Felhofer and welcome to First Sgt. LaFave!
