Not even a little rain could dampen the spirits of the Cub Scouts from Pack 197 for their great Crossover Ceremony. Lots of help from Troops 194B and 194G building an awesome "monkey bridge" for the evening and welcoming new Scouts into their Troops!

MERIT BADGE COUNSELOR TRAINING – Wednesday, January 6th. The merit badge counselor is a key player in the Scouts, BSA advancement program. Whatever your area of expertise or interest - whether it is a special craft or hobby,(basketry, leather work, coin collecting) a profession (veterinary medicine, aviation, engineering), or perhaps a life skill (cooking, personal management, communications) - as a merit badge counselor, you can play a vital role in stirring a young person's curiosity about a particular topic. By serving as a merit badge counselor, you offer your time, knowledge and other resources so that Scouts can explore a topic of interest. 2020 Unit Scorecards | Boy Scouts of America

Journey to Excellence Update
Scouting’s Journey to Excellence (JTE) is the BSA’s planning, performance and recognition program designed to encourage and reward the success of our units, districts, and councils. It is meant to encourage excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

The BSA recognizes that given the extraordinary circumstances occurring in 2020, benchmarking 2019 to 2020 and 2021 to 2020 is not constructive, therefore, effective immediately, the Journey to Excellence recognition program for Districts and Councils will be discontinued for 2020 and 2021.

The Journey to Excellence Unit recognition program will continue.

The JTE data is valuable information, and to assist with membership data analysis in the future, a new membership reporting tool is under development. This tool will provide councils and districts with key membership data, including gender and ethnic diversity. Stay tuned for details about the rollout of the new tool.
• Unit Recognition
Revised unit criteria, due to the pandemic, is available at https://www.scouting.org/awards/journey-to-excellence/unit/2020-scorecards-english/.

Announcement About Scouting the Zoo I know there is a lot going on with back to school set up, but if you want a fun family-themed Scouting weekend, I got something for you! Scouting The Zoo normally is a huge Scouting Skills showcase to the general public, but due to Covid-19, they took a different twist to it. On Saturday, September 5 from 8 AM to 4 PM you can enjoy a day at the zoo! There will be various Scout Skill Grottos that Cub Scouts can participate in. If you already have a Parking Pass and a Zoo pass, all you need for the weekend is $5 for each participating person (If guardians don't want to do activities, they do not need a wristband, but if you want to ride the train, then you will need one). And you can get a cool Scouting the Zoo patch for only $1! Safety wise, the Milwaukee County Zoo is requiring all Scout and Scout families participating to be both wearing proper face coverings and everyone involved with the Scouting event will be temperature screened. To register or for more information, please visit http://www.threeharborsscouting.org/program/scouting-the-zoo/59844 or follow Scouting the Zoo on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ScoutingTheZoo.
