All Retiree's...this is an Alert...the USPS just posted a news break.

They are exploring ways to save money and one of the things they are looking at doing is "taking over" the retirement and helath care befefit plans. How do you think that will be going?

You must get every USPS retiree you know of to do two things. One, join this page and "like" it so we can communicate. Two, get them to re-join The LEAGUE family NOW! If we do not stand together we will all suffer.

This is the official Retiree League of Postmasters page. I hope everyone enjoys this page and we will be sending out messages of upcoming events. The New Mexico convention is history but a great time was had by all the retirees. There were more than 71 retirees registered and during the business meeting we elected a new RLP president. Congratulation Nancy Trautman!

Three new vice-presidents (V-P) were also elected: Paul Cole (second term), Diane Parks (first term), and Hazel Betcher (first term). Hazel is new to the board and looking forward to “getting to work” to save our post offices. Welcome aboard everyone. Of course we have Bill Brennan serving as our past-national retiree president and he did an excellent job these last two years. The remainder of your board consists of: V-P Ray Boone, V-P Tomas Kelley, and Secretary/treasurer Earl Cary.

Thanks to all that were in attendance and we look forward to seeing many of our great friends in Washington DC for Forum this year. Bring a light coat as it will be from January 29 through January 31. Good news though, as we are going to go back to Crystal City.

this year the retirees again sponsored workshops at the national convention. A big thank you to Michelle Gardner, Ray Boone and Paul Cole. Ray and Paul reprised the very popular session on genealogy and Michelle provided tips on how to better take care of our skin. Do you have a topic you would like to share with fellow posmaters? Please contact Dale Nook or Tom Kelley about volunteering next year. You could also just post your ideas on this page.

It was great to see a room full of retirees at our business meeting and lunch at the National Convention in Albuquerque New Mexico. The New Mexico branch should be commended for hosting an oustanding convention. The beauty of all sites in New Mexico speaks for itself. Many postmasters saw this from the vantage of hot air ballons.
