It's baaaack! Record's Roast of Milwaukee is coming up on Monday, October 5, at the Cooperage. Don't miss this change to roast (affectionately) the city we all love. Once again, proceeds help our Milwaukee Women's Center, which provides emergency shelter and wraparound services to people surviving domestic violence and homelessness. We're grateful for Milwaukee Record's longstanding support. 💜 Get your ticket before they're gone!

Local comedians will be taking swipes at the city to help kick off the Milwaukee Comedy Festival and raise funds for Milwaukee Women’s Center.

It was fantastic to spend the evening with longtime and new friends as we celebrated 50 years of service to our community at the Baird Center on Friday. Thanks to those who showed up, contributed to our Housing Stability Fund, and are working with us to ensure that our community members can meet their needs and live with dignity. This month we're feeling golden! It's our 50th anniversary of serving our community. What started in a north side storefront has grown into a cornerstone organization serving 60,000 people a year. It's an honor to be part of this community. 💚

Did you know that the Milwaukee Women's Center almost shuttered its doors in the early 2000s? Fortunately for domestic violence survivors needing emergency shelter, behavioral health treatment, and wraparound services, the MWC found Community Advocates and decided to merge to increase both organizations' capacity to serve survivors.

CA board member Pam Klein, who was the MWC board president during the transition, explains what could have been lost--and how much has been gained. 💚💜💚
